Dorothy Henderson, founder of The Studio in High Bridge, is a NJ licensed and certified massage therapist since 2005. She graduated from the Institute of Advanced Studies, NJ with a 600 hour certificate in Massage Therapy. Dorothy is trained in various modalities of therapeutic massage and bodywork with specialties including Swedish and Relaxation Therapy, Sports and Medical Massage, Hot Stone Treatment, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Pre-Natal Massage.
Her bodywork style is nurturing, holistic and individually customized. With finely honed skills and an intuitive touch she powerfully uncovers and unwinds the tension in her clients’ bodies while helping them deeply relax. She is passionate about the positive effects of bodywork therapy and can provide a sports massage for fatigued muscles post workout, assist on injury rehabilitation and aid in the relief of tension-related pain.
Dorothy is also a Certified Yoga Teacher and created a personalized yoga meditation and assisted stretching modality where she combines both her massage and yoga training in a single session. She is also an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Certified and Licensed Spinning® Instructor and Licensed Zumba® Fitness Instructor.
